Anticipating the 2016-17 Season
The Summer of PuckShots
An amazing hockey season bled into an amazing hockey off-season! First and foremost on the list of incredible opportunities was being hired by Matt Murray of the Pittsburgh Penguins to photograph and chronicle his day with the Stanley Cup.
We weren’t done with Matt there as we also volunteered to photograph Training with a Pro for PRO Kids which was attended by Matt Murray himself, as well as St. Louis Blues defencemen, Robert Bortuzzo and newly-signed Carter Hutton, and New Jersey Devils draft pick Mackenzie Blackwood.
We also had a foray into sports outside of hockey as we were invited to photograph all baseball teams in Westfort Minor Baseball. And then had a blast photographing teams at the Thunder Bay Kings Alumni Golf Tournament.

New for 2016-17
With all that though, we’re ready for hockey season! Coming off a year where we photographed 106 teams, we’ve spent our “off time” over the Summer working on improving our business and give better service to customers.
Some of these improvements include:
- Interac: Yes, we FINALLY take debit transactions at the rink! Including Interac Flash (tap), chip or swipe. This has easily been the #1 request we’ve received.
- ApplePay: Incidentally, we’re also able to receive ApplePay with our new capabilities so, as a bit of a tech geek, I’ll be excited to take our first payment solely with a customer’s iPhone.
- CoolEdge: Some customers have asked us whether we’d ever do collages. Well, now we do. We wrote a blog post about it here if you’d like more information on that.
- BIG Packaging: For the past couple years now we’ve used great new flashy packaging. This season we’re also bringing out larger packaging which we be able to hold 8×10 photos, 8×12 posters and can even be assembled to hold 12×18 posters!
Winter is Coming
We’re still running the A/C in our house but believe or not, Winter is coming and it’ll be hockey season before you know it! With that in mind, it’s really never to early to book, even RIGHT NOW! We book up fast so please give us a shout, even if you want us to pencil you in an reserve a spot until you know for sure.
